The design competition “Die Gute Form” honors excellently designed journeyman pieces in the carpentry and carpentry trade. The guild organization of the trade organizes it every year, first at guild level, then at state level and finally at federal level. At each level, a jury of experts selects the pieces that are one more round ahead. The highlight is the national final, in which the journeyman pieces of the state winners are exhibited to the public. Traditionally, this exhibition takes place alternately at the world's leading trade fair LIGNA in Hanover or the International Crafts Fair in Munich.” Die Gute Form” focuses on the importance of design in the carpentry and carpentry trade. The competition is intended to motivate young talent to address the topic at an early stage. Trainees should think about the contemporary design of their journeyman pieces and then implement them in companies with the support of their instructors. In addition, the renowned competition with its exhibitions helps to present the design expertise of young carpenters and carpenters to a wide audience.
